Today there was a grand reception at Rótin, and a new identity was unveiled, which Grafia has designed.
This is a cross-section of a single root planted in a soil. The root is tough and stubborn, sucking food from the soil.
If we look closely, we see the earth in turmoil. Then comes the root itself, with its branches, which spread out in different directions. Together they create a rectangular borderless frame, around the logo itself. Note that the frame is boundless and open, so the root gets free space to grow and develop - also beyond the frame. In the space between the drawing is the vegetation, which creates life, culture and creativity.
The root represents the student who attends the school. If we stick to botany, you, as a student, will be planted in a creative and educational environment at school. You take root and get to unfold your creativity, both manually and temporally. You will receive basic and quality knowledge within food, culture, resources, body, health and all kinds of handicrafts, etc. - A priceless lesson for life.
The school is imagined in the aimless frame. It creates the framework and ensures good and sustainable vegetation, so that the student thrives and develops. The spaces in the drawing represent imagination, learning, creativity, cohesion, lifestyle and life.
Under the logo, the name „Rótin“ is written. The font is classic and has so-called "feet", which makes the font easy to read. However, the letter R breaks off, where the other bone of the letter has no foot. This creates a dynamic that is well suited to the logo.
The main color of the logo will be green, because it is a green school, which emphasizes short-term and sustainable resources. However, the logo has some warm and bright side colors from the Faroese nature.
A landmark is not a representation of any particular root. Roots are different, just as students are different. The school creates the framework and the vegetation for the pupil. But the student himself must take root, grow and sprout. Here at school is the spring of life, but then comes the autumn of life. It's exciting to see how things turn out for them.
